I've had a Cliq for about 8 months. Battery life borders on substandard, no larger battery available. I make very few phone calls (~5 min./day).

Every contact it can scavenge ends up in my address book. That includes over 1,000 Twitter follower entries, so the phone book is nearly useless for my personal contacts unless I deliberately Search for a name. Maybe there's some way to tell Contacts to ignore Twitter, Facebook, etc., but I haven't found it yet.

I instantly turn wifi, bluetooth and GPS on/off with Battery Widget (free from Android Market). GPS will run battery dead in a few hours, wifi left on will last about 14-18 hours. I rarely turn bluetooth on in the car, so I can't tell how it affects battery life.

My old RAZR ran 3-4 days between charges. My Cliq MUST be charged every night, and once or twice (long days) has gone dead before I can plug it in. I could easily stand another fraction of an inch on the Cliq if it meant better battery life.

Haven't tried charging with USB to laptop. Fortunately, Cliq uses 'new' standardized micro-USB - the wife's Palm Pre (and many others) use same charge plug.

Bought the Cliq last Saturday.
Sunday - Charged all night. Cliq was showing a warning message that the battery had 15% life left.
Monday - Charged all night. Turned off GPS, WiFi, and set brightness to 25%. By 4pm battery was dead.
Tuesday - Didn't worry about charging since I was returning it to T-Mobile.

Bad experience here. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Nice review....I've had the moto cliq for 1 month plus some days....I think it is a great phone......I've had both iphones.....very over-rated......battery lasted 4 hours top.....so far my cliq has lasted about 14 hours....with the gps and wifi on.....I took a lot of the widgets off the welcome screens...I like the keyboard.......also the way you are notified of messages is neat......the audio is also great...not a drop off from my iphones.....I use bose in-ear buds......overall a great phone in my view.......

Helpful hint..There is an option to turn the click (cliq) off when keys are pressed. If you prefer that option.and you will get used to the directional pad on the left.I felt the same way at first :)... out of curiousity...
What do you think is the best phone on the market right now?

You are correct, there is no mention of battery life. That is part of my follow-up post I am going to post today.
But in a nutshell, my battery life has been pretty spot on with what I get from my Sapphire. I leave WiFi on all the time as well as GPS, if GPS is in actual use it will drain the battery hardcore (but that is true of any device), same thing with WiFi. That being said, I can get a good couple hours of ProjectINF on WiFi before I need to worry about battery.

No mention of battery life?
OMG... did you actually use the thing?
First day - pulled it off the charger @ 5am
Got to work - no signal in building, turned on Wireless
By 1pm - 30% battery left - dead on drive home.
Charging via usb on laptop? Might as well hook it to a bike on Gilligan's iland for charging.. yeah, that quick.
Day two - (Sat)unplugged by 9am - No Wiress... but we are going out about town... so we turn GPS on... less than 4 hours, life is at 50%.
I know your thinking - dude got a bad battery.
Wife got one too... never turned on GPS or Wifi... didnt drain AS fast, but still was running out of juice by 5/6/7pm when pulled off charger @ 5am... 12hrs battery time? seriously? and just from using features that are toughted on the phone? really?

Hmm Cheers Nex

Great overview and review of the Android Cliq, I think I'll stick with my dream for now and keep flashing Cyanogen tell the cows come home. I am however intrigued by the keyboard, sounds quite comfortable.
